Cannot lock target for Touch heroes
Hi,
I've tried several searches for this problem, but I can't find anything. I'm running a H/H party to kill the Great Destroyer. I have 3 ranger heroes with basic Touch builds. The mission takes me only 2.5 minutes to complete, which is great. However, I have this problem that is incredibly annoying and frustrating! I cannot get all 3 heroes to lock onto any targets. I've tried Ctrl+Attack. Ctrl+Shift+Attack. I've tried using the Target Lock button on all 3 hero panels. If there is more than 1 monster within aggro of the heroes, they'll split up and pick their own targets. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and is there anyway to fix it? Surely this is a bug, right? We should be able to lock the heroes onto a target no matter what skills they use, right? Edit: Why would Anet provide a Target Lock button on the hero panel if it's not going to lock targets? Please help! If this is an old topic, or if I'm newbish, please forgive me. Thanks in advance for your assistance! Princess Kyra Last edited by PrincessKyra; Oct 02, 2007 at 06:44 AM // 06:44.. |

The hero and hench have *never* totally followed called targets. In fact, there are times where the entire party goes and does its own thing and you either have to go with it or face a party wipe.
As to why? Dunno - if it is their AI or some network problem it is hard to say, I kinda flip back and forth. I find little difference between heroes if given the same exact circumstances, skill bar, and attributes - others do not. However I find that Devona runs off against everything *every single flipping time I use her*, even to the point of going completely off the radar (this is usually because I attack - not called - a target and tried to run away to break their aggro, hers is nearly impossible to break) whereas Talon almost never does (others find no difference with hench yet much difference in heroes - opposite of me). It also seems they have a threat level that overrides any player commands (much like another human would usually do). I also find it common to have *no* AoE damagers, call a target, and once it is dead switch to find nearly every enemy on the field be at half health. This is usually in conjunction with not understanding why some enemy takes forever to kill. *shrug* Dunno - over all they still work better than 99% of the PUG's I have been in, I suppose if they worked like they should then that would go into the four or five 9 category (99.99 or 99.999% - a MUCH better number). I suspect they have some level of crappy-ness built in to promote grouping, or at least these bugs aren't fixed due to still being MUCH better than their baseline (PUGs). |

Yeah, as far as I can tell lock target just locks that target for their attacks. For caster classes this of course means squat, and is thus fairly useless.
Oh well, still better than PuGs. |
